Columnist #2: Leonid Issaev
Leonid Issaev is an opinion columnist that lectures at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow. He mostly focuses on Russian politics. Most of the articles that have been written by Issaev have been about political interactions between Russia and other countries like Syria, Iran, Britain, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia. When it comes to what Mr. Issaev values, it is quite apparent he values Russia's relationship with other countries, mostly Turkey and Syria. I believe the purpose of his posts are to provide readers information about Russian politics when it comes to Russia dealing with other countries that is not the United States. He also has the purpose of answering questions readers may have about Russian negotiations with other countries because he has titles like, "Is Russia Afraid of Losing Syria?", "Decoding King Salman's Visit to Moscow", and "Can Russia, Iran, and Turkey Come up with a Road map for Syria." The tone that could be found in is very neutral, while he is looking things at a Russian point of view he makes sure to keep as objective as possible by speaking mostly in third person and first person. He does talk about Russia much more kindly than the coverage that seen here in states, but the coverage about Russia in the states may have to be do to the speculated Russian involvement in the recent presidential election.
